Recordings Not Made

Sometimes scheduled recordings are not made. There are several possible causes for this happening:

  1. For some reason, the Toppy spontaneously rebooted at a time that resulted in the timer not recording.
  2. The program name contains an invalid character

There is not much that can be done to overcome the first cause. The easiest way to prevent this happening is to use the TMSTimer TAP and configure it so that all files names are PCSafe. In doing so you will also catch most, if not all, invalid characters for the Linux operating system that the Toppy runs. You configure this mode on the first page of the TMSTimer set-up menu; it is the second item.
