Functions

  • Browsing programs

This is the main function of the EPG. You can browse by simply pressing up or down on the remote control direction pad. You can also move forward/back days by pressing yellow/green buttons. NB. If one of your channels has no EPG data at a certain location and you scroll to that line then the EPG will go back to the previous item it has. This could go back to the current day/time if there is no data for the channel.
  • Selecting Channels

If the current item highlighted in yellow is the currently running program, or there is no current program on the EPG, then if you press OK you will be taken to that channel on live TV.
  • Setting Reservations/Preselect
    • If the current item highlighted in yellow is not a currently running program, then pressing OK will do 1 of 3 things:
      1. If the current item has no Reservation currently it will set it to "Preselect", i.e. the PVR will change to that channel when this program is due to start
      2. If the current item is currently Preselected (has a green P) then it will set it to record that program (it will now have a red R)
      3. If the current item is currently set to record (Red or Blue IR) then it will cancel the recording
    • You can also press the Record button to record an item. Pressing Record on an item will do 1 of 3 things:
      1. If the current item has no Reservation it will set it to "Record"
      2. If the current item is currently set to record, then it will bring up the Timer Editor where you can modify the settings
      3. If you press Record again while in the Timer Editor it will cancel the Reservation
    • Intelligent Record timers can be set by pressing the Blue button. Pressing OK on an item that is set to IR will delete the IR.
  • Other Notes

It is handy to always have your EPG fully populated. In most locations this gives you up to 8 days worth of programs. The only way the PVR can load EPG data is if you switch to one of the channels for a network, then all channel data for that network will be loaded. For example, if you switch to Channel 7, then you will get channel data for Channels 7, 7TWO, 7Mate, 70, 71. To do this so it happens all the time, set ED Timers (Every Day) for one channel in each channel group to run say early in the morning. These need to be non-recording timers. Below is a view of an example set: see timers #9-14
