Plans for Freeview plus and HBBTV support?

Does anyone know of plans for Topfield/TAPs to support the generic catchup capability Freeview are providing under the banner of Freeview Plus? Seems it uses the hbbTV system that has been used in UK Freeview and is being rolled out in newer PVRs and internet TVs.

I would be keen to learn how it could be implemented on my Toppy 2400

I have not heard any plans to implement Freeview Plus on Toppys. Not sure if Australian Toppys have the necessary hardware support for hbbTV system. Given the age of the platform that may be unlikely.

I have a dim recollection that some Toppys sold in the UK support a unitary Freeview EPG, but cannot say if it is hbbTV compliant. Given the age of the TMS hardware platform it may not suppoprt hbbTV.

As I understand it, the FreeView catch-up service can operate without hbbTV. SBS have released a beta app that accesses SBS content from the Freview system. If it is app based an app could be added to the TV Portal of the 2400/2460/2470. In some regions of Europe the Portal has several catch-up TV apps. No idea if Topfield has any intention of adding such an App to the portal. The 2470 supports iView so it may be technically possible to support FreviewPlus catch up TV.

The new TF-T6211 which supports Android apps should be able to run a general FreviewApp if one is made available for that platform.

Thanks Ian. Its the generic iview catchup streamer rather than EPG (I use IceTV) that I'm interested in - I was hoping that this could be implemented as a TAP and given it should use parts of hbbTV then maybe someone in UK has a TAP that could be adapted for Oz. Overly optimistic?
