H,

Recently ended up with a Toppy TRF2470.
It's meant to support iView, but it downloads the file, then can't play it omce it goes to "Green" Play. Pushing OK just takes you back to the home menu.
Now I can understand that iView may have changed things again, and this perhaps toppy no longer works, but I'm surprised to see no-one else has mentioned it.

Also YouTube doesn't work; It always says something like "Can't access file, Please to Retry". This doesn't worry me so much. I was, however, attracted to the 2470 for its claimed iView support.

Running latest firmware 1.11.0 Mar252104

I suggest you ask you question on the Topfield Australia Forum, where you are more likely to get a response. You will have to register to make a post; you should be able to make a posting shortly after you register.

I'm assuming a firmware downgrade can only be done via USB, and not via the LAN ?. Painful, especially as I need to find a non-standard USB cable to do it ! My old 5000 Toppy at least had a normal USB device port.
Where do I get 1.10.0 or 1.9.0 tbh files from ?

First, you update firmware by copying it to a USB stick then connecting the USB stick to the Toppy - much easier than with SD Toppys.

Managed all that :)
Found out, to my embarassment, that afterall it was User error using the iView menu, and 1.11 is fine. I wrongly assumed "OK" would Play, but you have to move the Green block over "Play" and then "OK". The Green block should move itself to Play as soon as enough has been buffered to Play, but that's just a UI complaint rather than a major issue.

We all do that from time to time. Glad it is sorted. There is still the component video out bug that is a concern to some of us.

Actually, still something odd.
It doesn't seem to like refreshing the iView screens after you have played one iView session. Have to power cycle the unit (warm boot) to get the iView video lists back.
Good way to avoid becoming a couch potato I guess, but maybe not what they had in mind :)
